spatial composition for a forest
Spatial installation consisting of 48 nylon-wire objects, an interactive digital circuit, 48 speakers, 48 LEDs, three interactive audio channels, three static audio channels, three signal amplifiers, three solar panels, and three battery units.
The work is situated in a forested area adjacent to the artist residency in Schöppingen. It uses sound and light to activate a spatial field distributed across a defined patch of woodland.
The installation operates as a responsive system in which acoustic and visual signals are triggered by the movement of visitors. As participants walk through the trees, sound density shifts according to spatial proximity and position within the installation.
The system is powered by solar energy and operates in a closed energy loop during its runtime. This energy structure informs the conceptual framework of the work, connecting technological infrastructure with site-specific environmental conditions.
The spatial arrangement of objects, sound, and light produces a variable field of perception that unfolds through interaction rather than fixed composition.
