Baryogenesis

kinetic installation

commissioned by Hidden Stage Festival 2015, Germany

kinetic installation for 38 foil balloons, nylon line and autumn winds

Helium balloons hover over the Hidden Stage Festival meadow in the form of a spiral nebula. Coupled on nylon thread, they are moved gently by soft autumn winds. The natural space, its changing light conditions, the kinetic element of the structure, the sound of the wind and the glittering balloons create a multi-layered atmosphere. In science, baryogenesis defines the birth of the nucleons, basis of all matter, our physical bodies, planet earth and the expanding universe. The use of the chemical element helium, refers to the birth and origin of all life and poetically connects all earthly existence back to the stars.
